The protection of your privacy in the processing of personal data as well as the security of all business data is an important concern to us, DEKRA Media, which we take into account in our business processes. In addition, it is important to us that you always know when we store which data and how we use it.
User data
In particular, the protection of personal data such as name, address, telephone number or e-mail address as well as the responsible handling of the information you entrust to us are important to us. This also includes the data that is generated in the background when using the Internet. If you are requested to provide personal information on individual web pages, you will be informed of the intended processing purpose and, if necessary, asked for your consent.
Your visit to our website is also subject to data protection. By default, our web servers store the name of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the pages you visit on our website and the date and duration of your visit. By accessing the Internet pages, DEKRA Media receives usage data which is stored for security purposes. The user data is evaluated for statistical purposes. The regular evaluation of the access statistics to the web pages shows the temporal development of the visitor resonance as well as the different success of different offers on the web page. Among other things, it is the basis for controlling the further development of the website. A passing on of user data to third parties, neither for commercial nor for non-commercial purposes, does not take place.
Applicable law and legal basis
DEKRA Media processes your data in accordance with the applicable European and German data protection regulations and treats them confidentially. The legal basis for the processing and storage are Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and § 7 UWG (German Law against Unfair Competition) for advertising purposes.
Rights according to the GDPR
The GDPR grants data subjects rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), limitation of processing (Art. 18), objection (Art. 21) and data transferability (Art. 20) vis-à-vis the processor. According to § 7 (3) UWG the client may object to the use of his data for advertising purposes at any time without incurring any costs other than transmission costs according to basic rates.
Exercise of rights in accordance with GDPR and data protection officer
The exercise of certain rights under the GDPR and the objection under the German Law against Unfair Competition must be declared to the data protection officer of DEKRA Media: safety@dekra-media.de. There is also a right to lodge a complaint with the “Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz Baden-Württemberg” (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia) responsible for the DEKRA Group.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. IP anonymisation is activated for this website. Storage period: in the event of revocation of consent, at the latest 4 weeks after the end of the contract.
Rights of data subjects: There is a right for the controller to information (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or erasure (Art. 17 para. 1 GDPR) or restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), objection (Art. 21 GDPR) and data transferability (Art. 20 GDPR). Furthermore, there is a right to lodge a complaint with the responsible data protection supervisory authority (e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia).
If the collection, processing or use takes place on the basis of consent, the right exists to revoke the consent with the controller at any time with effect for the future.
Miscellaneous: The provision of personal data is partly required by law through tax regulations or can result from contractual regulations. Also it could be necessary with a contract conclusion that personal data must be processed by us. Failure to provide personal data would mean that the contract could not be concluded.
